What another resolution for this new year of 2012?

Okay okay I have to ask...what are your New Year's Resolutions for 2012 and/or how did 2011's resolutions turn out? I look back at the year 2011 visioning; What did I do? I did do every thing a little better. However, my record keeping is in my mind and not on paper.

Organization is always on my everyday mental list, when to clean which room, when to list new inventory in my eBay store, how to organize my work desk for efficiency, when to write a blog, when to cook nutritious food, when to exercise, when to read, when to go and put merchandise in my Snohomish booth, when to pay bills, when to play with my husband, when to go to the movies, kitchen organization, when to be with a friend, when to ship to my customers, and I could go on and on.

Is using a calendar every day hard for anyone else to do? Is your mind keeping track of stuff to do? Is your life full of impromptus? Would I do best when on a calendar routine or not? Okay okay, I am going to try a calendar routine for one week and then evaluate my progress or lack of. I will first make a list of things to do, things I know of. I will be flexible for things that come up during my week. Oh my, I will need to look at the calendar; How many times a day? I am beginning the "calendar use," but first I need to figure out what kind of calendar I should use? Um, I have iCloud for Mac, a good place to start.

The Burke museum located in Seattle Washington had evaluators present to identify rare collectible objects. The evaluators would not give you a value for your objects, only identify them. My husband brought three pieces of maybe Ellensburg Blue agate, one a ring and two rocks. I brought maybe an American Indian gourd. The line was long, I felt like I was at the Antique Road Show. The TV 5 camera person was present filming.

My Husband had one winner. One rock was the authentic Ellensburg blue agate. My gourd was a complete surprise to me. The gourd was an African folk art piece and not American Indian. The evaluator said the gourd container had water or beetles in it. This gourd had burnt smoke smell inside of it. The evaluator commented the gourd was 1950's. Someone burnt something inside of it? I can stand with my African gourd and say I am surprised about my find, but not disappointed to sell. This is a wonderful piece of folk art.

Listing twenty one things I want to do

Sure we all have heard of the list of twenty one things about how to relax. How about listing the twenty one things you want to do. I decided to make a personal list of things I want to do.

1. To do an excellent job when I am working as a nurse.
2. To be a successfull weight watcher member.
3. To read one book a month.
4. To do more home healthy cooking.
5. To redecorate and organize my total house. one room at a time.
6. To make to do lists. Organize my time daily, to get the things done.
7. To find successful unique inventory for my stores. My latest adventure is antique and vintage "French" linens. Yes, I have a picker in France. The gorgeous linens will be shipped directly from France.
8. To research and study my inventory items. Lately, it is all about "France and French."
9. To exercise 30 minutes every day of the week.
10. To manage the finances.
11. To keep my car clean. I live in my car Monday through Friday, traveling around for my nursing job.
12. To do one section of housework daily. Then, I would not have to do it all on Saturdays.
13. To have a successful eBay store and booth in Lindy's Attic in Snohomish WA.
14. To go to Church and daily scripture readings.
15.To have better outside beds full of plants and flowers. This would mean to work more outside in the yard. When nice days are here work in the yard one section at a time.
16. To have a grand garden.
17. To follow the plan to keep my inventory list up to date on a daily basis.
18. To keep my inventory organized to easily find bought items.
19. To blog two to three times a week.
20. To be with my friends once a month and do fun things.
21. To travel with my husband anywhere.

I ended this task. My things I want to do, will vary in the order I do them. My wants may change with wisdom. Write some comments on what you want to do.

I am thinking over the year I had in 2010.

My family life had ups and downs. I think every family cycles with situations and emotions. If not, would they call it a dysfunctional family? Who knows what psychology lingo you can call it. From what I hear about other families, mine seems to be "normal." Oh My!

I lost my mom to breast cancer. The work to care for her. Watching her take her last breath. The beautiful funeral and love sharing with my siblings.

My two son's going through a divorce. One son with two adorable boys. One son with legal problems. Both needing money help. I told my sons, I will not be able to retire until I am 72. I will take trips in 2011 to California to see Conner and Owen.

Sean's two sons, one lived in Olympia WA and one lived with us. The boy in Olympia found Buda and chants? The boy who lives with us is on L&I from a back injury. He had back surgery. His back still hurts and limits what he can do. Thank goodness, Sean and his son do dishes and clean the home. I do not have time let over to do as many home chores as I would like to do.

My darling husband kept me sane with his comfort, help and understanding.We celebrated holidays together. We fixed our trailer camper. Sean and I did some camping. I hope to do more in 2011. I have a great time camping with Sean. Our love for each other grew every day. We both worked two jobs. He works in the pulp industry. I work as a registered nurse and Vickysplace1.

A Meeting with Doctor of Doll Repair

I sat on a chair in his office. Dolls, doll cloths and doll parts were surrounding me. At one point in his life he had two large storage sheds full of dolls and other doll stuff. He had a doll shop. He participated in doll shows. He still repairs dolls. He is well respected by all in the doll industry. He just finished repairing dolls that were burned in a fire. Currently working on American Girl doll repairs.

Wikipedia wrote-
"In 1986 the first Pleasant Company catalogs debuted character dolls Samantha Parkington, Kirsten Larson, and Molly McIntire. Offered for sale with these dolls were the first three stories of each character's eventual six-book series, period outfits and accessories, and storage options. The dolls were designed by Götz, a German doll-maker. Since then, the company has added to and expanded its historical character line as well as ceasing production of some older characters. The American girl dolls between 1986 to 1997 are very collectible.

The doll hospital is in Bothell WA, about 15 minutes from my home. I found the DollPalace web site and plugged the phone number and address in my Iphone. "The Doll Palace General Hospital."

I started a journey cleaning old dolls. I do not know how to repair them. The doctor learned how to repair dolls by the school of hard knocks. He bought useless dolls and parts to practice on. He dumped a porcelain doll in a burning trash barrel. Then practiced on the doll to clean her up. He has done doll repair starting in 1984. The art of doll repair is something that you can learn as you go.

I will keep in contact with Ken and hopefully meet his wife( Esther) some day. They have been in the doll world together. Click on the title to enter their web page.

The memorable customer (Debra), a person I will never forget. Debra emailed me about her need for a Rustie Holiday doll 34" tall to add to her Christmas theme. She requested 2 different dressed dolls, one was red or green velvet. Debra sent me her Christmas photos taken last Christmas 2009. I emailed Rustie the pictures. I asked Rustie, "What kind of doll do you think will match her decor a red velvet or green velvet? Rustie responded " A green velvet dress and hat doll." The following pictures were from Debra's Christmas decor 2009.

"Very sweet paper doll comes from an old newspaper from the early 1900's. This little girl has 3 outfits, perfect for Thanksgiving, including a Native American costume, a Pilgrim costume and use there is even a Turkey costume!!! All of the pieces can be cut out and colored in, for hours of fun! Creating an eBook in 30 days-My story

This is no excuse. My time is so very limited. I work full time as a nurse. I have three internet stores, a booth at Lindy's Attic (1430 Bickford Ave, Snohomish, WA 98290-1722, (360) 563-9060), a husband, two grown sons and two grown step sons, two grand boys, two dogs, a home to keep clean, laundry to do, cooking, shopping and writing a blog. Lordy and I am only 57 years old. I think I need a maid to help me. My wish upon the star is that I can soon have enough money to hire a maid weekly.

What is my story? Your story needs to go into the book. I have carefully thought about this a few days. Everyone has a story to share.

Hi I am Vicky. In 2006, I started selling on eBay when a friend introduced me to a storage shed of dolls and collectible items from an estate. The lady was a doll collector. She collected collectibles of all sorts. I was told her dolls took the total space in the upper level of her home. I started to learn how to sell dolls. My Journey continues for as long as I enjoy the people surrounding me. I touch lives when I work in a way to create peace, happiness and love. My goal is to make money so I can continue bring positive memories to my customers.

When I was a girl. I remember my parents giving me a doll every Christmas. Sometimes, my dolls would mysteriously disappear. I wanted the dolls. Years, later I figured out why my dolls went missing. My family moved every 2 years to a new place. My father worked in the military for 20 years. Mom threw away the dolls, toys and clothing until I had only one suitcase of belongs. The treasures I lost, I seek today.

My challenge to myself is to create an eBook in 30 days. How am I going to do that? I decided to blog each day for 30 days about the topic of the book. I will take comments to heart and include them in the eBook. At the end of the 30 days I will take all the information and create the eBook of the century. This will be my first eBook. Missing Mum and Leavenworth WA

I cut my hair short, I looked in the mirror and said mom you would love my new hair do. When I got a new style hair do, I use to call her and tell her. I miss our frequent phone conversations. My tears come to me eyes and I feel I miss my mum.

My husband and I went on a camping trip to Leavenworth WA. It helped my grieving mind. I have felt heavy since my mum died. After the funeral, I slept for 2 days. It was like jet lag the condition I had coming back from China.

We were going to sell our camper. My message therapist looked at the camper, but she decided not to buy the camper. The camper went to the doctor and works! Our new Tundra truck pulled the camper with no effort. The truck is so comfortable and perfect to travel in.

The camp site located 18 miles from Leavenworth WA. Sean was a great boyscout and made a fire in the pit. We had meat cheese and roasted marshmallows. Sean made the best stick to roast marshmallows, sorry no picture.

The camp site had brown bear warnings, but we saw no bear.

I found a gold cowgirl hat with rhinestones. I felt I was in Texas! The town has a wonderful Christmas decor store. I bought some bubble Christmas tree lights. The kind we had in the 1960's.

My mother had high standards for everything. I thought about how it affected me as a person. My counselor in college told me I had a very high expectation in all avenues of my life. It was true. I learned it from my mom. When I was caring for her, I wanted and tried to do everything perfect to get her approval. It made me feel more stressed than what I already was. I stopped the perfection attitude. Oh- a sigh of relief to continue to care for mom the best I could.

My mother took her last breath on August 21 at 7:10pm. Three children were present, the third child called from the air port shuttle. He talked to mom on the phone, His voice was soothing to mom. She took her last full breath after I took the phone away from mom's ear. Mother's breathing stopped. My brother arrived to the home in 45 minutes. He was able to say his good byes to mom at her bedside.

My Mother died comfortable and with Jesus watching over her. God's word to her and me was, "The lord is my Shepard," psalm 23.

I touched my mom after her death. I talked to her. She was gone. Her body was present without any breath. Mom's body was beautiful to me. Her face laying on the pillow on a side view was very pretty in death. I knew her spirit had left to be in heaven with others, dad, her sister, her mother, her father, her grandparents and many others. Yes, both of my parents have died. Leaving me the oldest in my family line. My mother left on earth, 4 children (I being the oldest), 7 grandchildren, and 4 great grandchildren. I had 2 boys and 2 grand boys.

Mom stayed at the home until 10:30pm. The funeral home picked her up. The 4 of us started to work a plan to have a funeral on 8/25/10, my mother's birthday. The day she would be 75 years old.

The family decided to have a grave-side funeral with my mom's cremated remains. The hospice pastor and his volunteer. The volunteer sang "How great art thou" oh-so-so beautiful. His voice was strong and carried a sound of pure joy and peace. The flowers were magnificent.

My mother was cremated and her ashes remains were in the pink urn surrounded with her teddy bears and beautiful flowers!

My oldest brother spoke about my mother being a wonderful mother. She had a special way about cooking rice and no one could live up to the expectation. We lived in many places growing up for my father was in the army during the years we grew up. My brother showed his love and cried during his sharing time. My youngest brother said mother was always there for him. He would miss her dearly. My sister decided to remain in heartfelt solitude.

My husband shared a story about coming to the home to have dinner at 5pm after lobbing on the hill in Olympia. He would say no to going out for dinner to eat my mother's food. My mother was a wonderful cook. My husband took the pictures. OOPS, no picture of him.

I shared a story about her cleaning my home every time she visited. I think it was because I was a single parent, worked and needed help with house cleaning and laundry. My mother would look at the needs of her children and meet them the best way she could. I never had any extra money to do anything for myself when raising my 2 boys. I stayed single for 25 years. My husband and I got together in the year 2000. We married in 2005.

We carried mom's remains to the hole. The four of us touched the remains with words of love and goodbye.

My cousins told us about placing in the grave a rose labeled with the names for the grand and great grand children . After placing Mom's pink container in the earth, each of her 4 kids placed roses on top of my mother. We said the hearts of her and our children our with her in heart. Our kids could not come. The cost to fly was too expensive for them.

The other rose was for his son and Phil placed the rose by mom. He does not have any children. My brother said it was appropriate because his brother always calls him his son's name.

My sister and I met with a funeral man to go over mom's funeral arrangements. Pre-planning a funeral saves you many dollars. My own insights about why I do not plan my funeral. I do not like to think about dying. I'd rather think it will never happen to me. I plan for my funeral will I die sooner, like placing a jinx on me.We are meant to die. The timing of our death is unknown. It is so much easier on your family when things are planned out and paid for.

My sister and I got lost trying to find the plot where mother would be laid to rest with her ashes. We walked on a lot of graves. The graves feel lumpy under your feet. I hope I did not disturb the graves too much. You wonder as you walk. Suddenly, my sister called and said I found the plot. Hurray! The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes

My brother said mom totally relaxed when in the home. We made a care plan to hire night time caregivers for awhile. Until, my brother could not take care of mom alone during the day.

Mom would not wake up for care on Saturday night. I think she was exhausted from worrying about the nursing home care.

I arrived to the home on Saturday 8/8/10 to care for mom, until Sunday at 6m. Then I returned home.

My experience with bed rails one day. I check on mom every 10 minutes until I go bed at 11pm, then a check at 3am and up at 6:30am. On my 10 minute check at 8pm, I found my mother's arm hanging off the bed between the middle bed rail. Her head, face down hanging off the bed below the bed rail. Her feet hanging off the bed on the other side of the bed. My brother and I carefully saved her arm from being broken. Mom was angry, her mouth and teeth clinching. I was thinking, "How could this have happened in 10 minutes?"
My mother is having severe terminal agitation and delirium. The doctor ordered a cocktail of psychiatric drugs to be given within a 6 hour period. Every 6 hours would you can start the dosages over again. Mother was calm and 8 hours went by from her last cocktail treatment. Quickly, mother received her cocktail. She calmed down from anger to peace. WOW!
Hospice advises mother's brain is dying first and then her body. She drinks 7 cups of water a day and no food. Her Foley catheter continues to drain urine. This has been happening for 5 days.
Tonight my sister is flying in from Texas. Thank you God! "I need my sister. " My brother and I began syringe feeding water and a nutritional supplement to mom.
One picture says a thousand words. My mother is slowly dying from cancer. My heart is heavy, my mind is forgetful and I am exhausted.

Mom came home from the nursing home 7 days ago. She had many physical changes in the last 7 days. From deep sleeping for 12 hours with no water and food then moving to restlessness for 9 hours and drinking water every 15 minutes. She stopped eating regular food. We are going and going according to my mother's biological body needs. She now has a urinary catheter.

When the hospice nurse came out on Saturday (8/7/10), I asked her to check mom for stool. Mom had bowel tones and no stool in the rectum. We were told mom had only weeks left. I left Sunday (8/8/10) to go home to Snohomish. I returned back to work on Monday 8/9/10. My husband and Joe gave me a wonderful birthday party on 8/10/10.

On 8/12/10 at 10:30am, my mother became extremely agitated with my brother who cares for my mother alone in the home. My mother was hitting, scratching, seeing people, and screaming. The hospice social worker came at 11am to witness my mother's behavior. My mother told the two men during her restlessness she had to go number 2.

Mom had a bowel movement 7 days ago when she returned from the nursing home. My mother was drinking a nutritional supplement and baby rice cereal and water. She takes small amounts. We increased her water intake and her headaches have stopped. We are trying to do comfort with food and fluid as long as mom wants.

A terrific doctor returned my brother's phone call from a message he left the day before. He called during mom's behavior crisis. He gave my brother directions on what kind of medications to give. The doctor said mom would need to take constipation medicine. A suppository would also need to be given for mom to have a bowel movement.

My brother called me at 7pm. He said he could not care for mom alone, he needed my help. I left my home and arrived in Olympia at 10pm. I have been here with mom and my brother ever since.

Pallitive home care gave our family the natural laxative recipe to regulate mom's bowel movements. Well it became a favorite way to regulate the bowels of 2 members of the family. I am not going to tell who.

1/2 pound pitted prunes
1/2 pound raisins
1/2 pound pitted figs
1 1/2 -2 oz senna tea leaves
1/4 cup lemon juice

1. prepare tea. use about 2 cups boiling water. add the water to the tea leaves and steep for 5 minutes. you can place the tea leaves in a tea strainer and steep.

2. add the tea to the fruit.
3. boil the fruit and tea in a pan until the tea is almost gone. You want the mixture moist.
4. remove from heat and add the lemon juice. allow to cool.
5. use food processor to turn mixture into a paste.

Suggest to spread over toast, top cereal or eat off the spoon. 1 to 2 tablespoon a day as needed for your body.

Yesterday my mother went into a nursing home for a 5 day respite care on hospice care. My mother needed 24 care. The family had a crisis. I will keep the crisis a secret. I hope we all can work it out by the time mom comes home again.

At the nursing home, mom said why did you put me here ? I told her she needed 24 hour care. The family needed to make a new care plan for my mother.

Mom had a restless night in the nursing home. She had those nights in her home.

My mom lives on a lake. The lake is so pretty and peaceful.

However, I am exhausted! The night shift is running me down. My sister is exhausted! She awakes every time I get up, the walls are paper thin and being a light sleeper does not help matters. For some unknown reason mother cannot sleep very well at night. A routine night, mom is up 3 times. A bad night, mom is up every hour calling out people names asking for help. In reality every night is a bad night because she does not sleep straight for 8 hours.
Last night mom was nervous about my brother was not at the home. My sister and I have been with mom for 3 days and 2 nights alone. My brother was having a vacation away from mom. My sister and I do not believe how he does it. My brother goes all day and gets up with mom at night to help her too. My mother needs 24 hour care. I need to go back to my husband and work. My sister needs to go back to Texas where her husband, children and her Yoga studio awaits her.

My mother is stable within her cancer disease right now. A miracle life can be. Amazing come back. We cannot predict her death. Sister and I say it is time to hire a person to help my brother. It is impossible to care for mom day and night, until I come to the house on Saturday to relieve him until Sunday evening. When I arrive on Saturday, my brother goes to sleep for ten hours. He leaves on Sunday day to do his stuff to get a break from mom's care job.

She said the door would not open and had to return for unfinished business with her family. Mother does not want to suffer too long. Mom goes in and out of two worlds. She wakens, "I am still here?"

Us kids are very emotional. This dying process is affecting all the kids. My brother seems not to want my mother to die yet. He wants to continue to reduce her pain medication. We all know the pain medication contributes to the death process. You are in a catch 22, comfort and death.

The medical professionals say brother is one of the best caregivers they have seen. He said he wants to be a nurse. My aunt, her daughter and her daughter are nurses. Nurses run in our family. A bridge program into nursing seems to be my brother's calling. His siblings are encouraging him. He can live in mom's home rent free after her passing while attending nursing school.

One surprising thing was when my brother hugged me and cried, I cried and my sister cried. We have not seen this emotion from him before. He is tender and cares about his family.

Image via WikipediaYesterday, we were busy, busy and more busy. We were busy with company. I was detained and realized at 10pm I had not written the blog. TOO Tired, I went to be bed after mom had her night time routine.
Mom's bed time is 10pm. We do it in steps to maintain her sanity. The first step is brushing the teeth, washing her face and placing the night gown on. A ten minute break. The second is potting time. The commode is next to her recliner chair. Mom can bear weigh and take a few steps. She pushes a button to lift her chair to a standing position, she holds your arms and lifts using her leg. Mom takes a few steps turns correctly to the commode chair. She needs help with pulling down and up her pants. Mom wears a brief. Sometimes she dribbles urine into the brief. A ten minute break. The third step mom takes all her pills. The pills are placed on top of yogurt on a spoon. You cue her to swallow the pill and take water. A ten minute break. The fourth step is to walk her from the recliner to the bed. To position her in bed, you lift her feet up into bed. There is a sheet under her to lift her. One person on each side of the bed to do a manual lift to the upper part of the hospital bed. Then she has 3 pillows around the head of the bed. She sleeps until 5:30am. At 5:30am, potty time and pills.

Mom's appetite and food intake decreases every day. She still eats. Today she ate 1 yogurt, 1 ensure, 1 slice of toast, 1 cup of cream of wheat, 1/2 cup of hamburger soup, 1/2 cup strawberries, 1 slice of cheese, 1/2 cup of miso soup, 1/2 cup mix vegs, and 1/2 cup of cottage cheese/applesauce. She drank 5 bottle's of spring water. My mother is losing weight.

Mom said she is scared of dying. My mother believes in Jesus Christ. I tell her to have Jesus hold her in her minds eyes, focus on Jesus.

The hospice nurse came by in the morning for about 1.5 hours. Mom's blood pressure was low normal, but better than 80/40. She has no pain! yea yea and more yea.
My cousins, two girls and one boy, came to visit mom. Mom sat in the wheelchair for 15 minutes with her oxygen on. She socialized and said funny things. She still has her sense of humor.

Mother sleeps a great amount of time. To manage her pain she is on very high dosages of opiate medication. It is difficult to tell if it is the opiates or cancer that effects her mind. When she awakes she talks sense and nonsense.
My sister and I told mom the story about looking at cherries in the store. We both had an experience about eating a whole bag of cherries. Stomach cramps and the runs to a toilet. We decided not to buy them. We did not want to share one toilet in mom's home, not worth the mess and smell. Mom said you nutty girls. She fell into sleep. Sometimes she wakes up agitated over hearing a noise or your voice is too loud.
My mother talked about how her life may displease her maker. I told her "we are all wretches" and "god's abundance of grace is more than we can fathom." She fell into sleep.
Mother slept the afternoon, my sister and I watched the movie the grey mansion. One thing the movie registered with me- Honor your mother.
Since my sister moved to Texas from Washington 6 year ago she has not had any raspberries. Now her mouth and fingers are red from eating so many. We are going to make raspberry crisp tonight.
My mother has many physical signs of dying. It is hard for my brother, Phil. My mom had a spell of dizziness, increase weakness, stomach upset and fainting. My brother told mom, I am calling the hospice nurse. My mother said no. My brother kept insisting, and finally my frail mother gave into him. He called hospice. My mother awakes and ask when the hospice nurse will be here. I told her Hospice said to monitor her, and encourage water. I told her a nurse was not coming out. My mother had a look of relief. To me the more sleep the better and let mom do what she wants with her body. I think that will be my encouragement to my siblings, let her go through her natural process of death.

Last night, I tried to sleep in mom's hospital bed. The air mattress moves giving your body a different sensation from my mattress at home. Mom was next to the bed in a recliner chair. She snored all night. I slept on and off. Mom awoke at 5:30am. Mom is an early morning person. She said I am still alive? My little brother said to her you are a tough bird mom. Mom smiled.

Mom was waiting for the pastor to come . She asked me at 10am, 11am and noon, when will he be at the home? After lunch, I helped her wash her face and comb her hair. She was looking forward to the pastor.

My sister arrived from Texas today. She told mom she looked adorable. The pastor came from hospice. He sang amaze in grace, mother loved it. Even though you are a wretch, God calls you and takes you with grace. He told us about walking through the shadow of death, God is with you. Mom felt she was scared. The pastor said do not fear, God will be with you. My sister, and brother, and I, and mom, and the pastor, held hands while the pastor prayed for love and peace.

I have decided to run my blogs about my mother again in her memory. The blogs are labeled #1 and so forth. My mother lived in Olympia WA, the journey from my home to her home is about 2.5 hours. This was a part in my life that helped me to relate and see my mother in a different way. The experiences I had with my siblings made me closer to them. I see life and doing things differently, a positive growth for me. I truly believed, I honored my mother the best I could have. The last 2.5 years watching my mother decline from a cancer that started in the breast to the bones and then the brain was my ending life journey with mum.

My next blogs will be the stories about my moments with mother at the end of her life. I think the stories can be entertaining and heart felt at the same time. I do add things about my faith. My faith is very important to me.

Weight loss or gain?

My Husband and I are at a thousand trails site in Washington. We left our house late, because our washing machine needed attention for 5 hours. The HE machine is working again. We were using to much soap and getting the "suds" sign. My advice is to use less soap than required for your HE machines. While doing a couple loads of clothing, we packed and packed and packed for our trip.

We ate dinner on the road. I ate 1/2 of the food portions. We got to our cabin , unpacked and unpacked and unpacked. We looked at each other and simultaneously said, "where is are food." We forgot to pack food. Well, my husband and I do like to eat. We both are trying to lose weight. I think it was the first time we did not think about food when going on a road trip.

Le Trip France is having a giveaway and you may win an original rare mid century poster titled, "French Vintage School Poster Botanical Gardening Rose." The poster is worth 100 dollars in US boutiques. This is one of a beautiful series of similar posters used for science classes for French school children in the 1960's. A school stamp "Ecole Catholiqe de Filles" (Girls' Catholic School) is marked along with other info on a round stamp on both sides.

American scientist are trying to figure it out why frankincense is working to kill cancer cells. Working with frankincense could revolutionize the treatment of cancer. Currently, with chemotherapy, doctors blast the area around a tumor to kill the cancer, but that also kills healthy cells, and weakens the patient. Treatment with frankincense could eradicate the cancerous cells alone and let the others live.

My mother has been fighting cancer for 2 years. She is 76 years old. Her cancer started in the breast and spread to her bones. Today was her first day to try the frankincense. My thinking is to bring her any kind of comfort. She is sick to her stomach, eating less every day and has a tremendous amount of pain. Horrible suffering of pain and anxiety every minute in 24 hours. We give her medication to keep her comfortable as much as can be. She still suffers, when the pain creeps in or when she walks with her walker. Watching my mother slowly die is hard on my emotions. She does need 24 hour care. We take cat naps between her care needs.

My mother is trying the frankincense. She has a routine and does not like change. But she has nothing to lose at this time of her life. Just maybe it will give her comfort. I will be trying a baby monitor tonight.

My blog writing doesn't happen as often, I am helping mom more. I live 2 hours away from her. I come on the weekend to her home and help my brother. My brother is her full time caregiver. During the week, I work as a registered nurse Monday thru Friday. When I am not working as a nurse, I do my eBay store. I appreciate my husband, my dogs, my boys, my grandboys, my friends, my customers and life.

I fly into the Burbank California to meet my son, Jerry and my two Grandsons, Conner and Owen at 5:15pm today. I am now packing. I need to remember their Kid books bought at a recycled book store in Snohomish WA, their second hand clothes bought at mommy go around and their art projects bought at an art shop by by nursing job. Hopefully the suitcase will be under 50 pounds.

I will be in California until april 4 to have fun with my family and the grandkids. I will blog my trip to share experiences to my family, friends and fans. Keep in tune and take the trip too.

The last time I saw the two boys were at Christmas 2009 at my home. Let me introduce my boys to you.

For the past 3 years, my husband and I attend the Society of the Friends of St. Patrick. This was the 70^th annual dinner. The historic event is one of the great Irish week celebrations in Seattle dating back to 1941. This is a time to enjoy entertainment and camaraderie in a festive Irish meal. An auction takes place to benefit educational programs of the Archdioceses of Seattle and Seattle University. There are many who are storytelling and dancing long into the night.

The superb dinner I chose was an organic salad with Murphy’s Raspberry dressing, shepherd McQuiad’s pie and McCarthy’s chocolate Guinness stout cake paired with Geno’s cherry kiss cocktail (bailey’s on ice). My auction paddle is a large white thick paper with a black number identifying me a bidder. I love to go to auctions-so fun. Some of my store curios are from auctions.

I won the custom tuxedo bidding for my darling husband, Sean. Oh much excitement. The auctioneer made me bid $50.00 more to win the tux. No hurt feelings, my husband was happy!

The double tree Arctic Club Hotel in Seattle Washington, in the historic northern lights dome room the guests sit at round tables with a brilliant crystal chandelier centered on the ceiling. The architectural design of the ballroom is magnificent.

This year I spoke with honorees Mayor of Galway, US Senator Marie Cantwell, State Senator Paull Shin WA state, State Senator Ed Murray WA State, Brain Sullivan Snohomish County Councilman WA State, John Keane, Honorary Consul General of Ireland and Desmond Guinness and his daughter, Marina.

Guinness beer is my favorite beer. Wherever I travel in the USA to Hungary to Germany to China I drink Guinness beer. Meeting members of the Guinness family members will be a cherished memorable evening.

Marina wanted a cigarette, I replied I do not smoke. She said the Americans do not smoke in the buildings, I said our law in Washington state is you have to smoke outside 25 feet away from the door. She thought the law was outrageous, especially when the Americans brought the cigarettes from Ireland. She had a beautiful necklace of amber around her neck. She got the necklace in Lithuania. Lithuania is where her mother is from. She asked if I had been there, I said no.

Desmond bough the leixlip castle in co kildare in 1958 and that same year with his first wife who was the former princess Marie Gabrielle founded the Irish Georgina Society to help to preserve Irish architecture of all periods. He lives in the castle. He has published many publications: Georgian Dublin: Irish Houses and Castles; The White House: An Architectural History; and his latest Dublin-a Grand Tour. Maria Cantwell won the auction for the White house book. She was excited to win.

Desmond is a handsome fella, Marina the free spirit watched over him as he danced and had fun at the party. Desmond and Marina have the most beautiful blue eyes.

I bought the set from my favorite antique gal in Marysville Wa. The "pansies" "blonde lady" and the "victorian etching" design is adorable. Why not give this set to a lovely lady for valentines, birthday or just to say "I love you." I am having a hard time parting with the set. The set would bring glamour and sparkle to my vanity. To look at the set everyday before preparing for the day would be inspiring to me. The set is 118 years old and survived in good condition. I was amazed to see a patent date marked on both items 1892 with a S mark.

A mission of mine is to give back to the community by supporting the poor. I do this by buying all kinds of items in various community stores. I believe in giving to the poor as part of my business. One of the stores I support is Seattle Goodwill. The Goodwill is a wonderful organization for the poor. A non-profit organization providing basic education and job training services. The Seattle store trains and employs people. They serve 2,200 people at their 9 Job Training & Education Centers last year. They also employ more than 1,200 people. Goodwill's mission is to change lives through employment. Expansion plays a major role in that mission, they need partners who share their goal of helping those in need in the community. Currently there are 19 stores in WA state.
